BAJAUR: Former provincial minister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Anwar Zeb Khan, was arrested by Bajaur police on Saturday following a workers’ convention in Bajaur tribal district.
He had a warrant issued against him on December 7 for failing to appear before the court.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has condemned the arrest of Anwar Zeb.
Earlier today, the district administration in Bajaur sealed the hujra belonging to Anwer Zeb Khan in response to PTI’s announcement of organising a workers’ convention.
Previously, on November 22, a video of him went viral, in which he is seen brandishing a Kalashnikov at a public gathering and threatening the then Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah, with grave consequences. A case was registered against him after that incident.
A separate video of his son Sikander Zeb went viral following the 9 May incident, where he is seen participating in an assault on the General Headquarters (GHQ). The video depicts him standing outside the GHQ, criticising the arrest of PTI’s chairman as a betrayal of the party’s leadership and workers. No case has been registered against him so far.
